What is league night?
Our squash league is a competitive format in which individuals compete against each other for a single match on a weekly basis.
How can I join league night?
To become a member of the League, please reach out to us using our contact form.
What is the league night’s schedule?
League starts mid-October and concludes early April of the following year. For this duration, you will be scheduled a single match to play each week.
We conduct matches on Thursday evenings between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM.
Each match is allotted a 30-minute time slot. Given the constraints of limited available time, all players are required to be prepared to begin their match at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled play time.
Where do the league matches take place?
All matches take place at the downtown Sudbury YMCA of Northeastern Ontario. While a YMCA membership is not obligatory for club participation, non-members will incur a slightly higher fee, which accounts for access to the facility on club nights.
What options are available if I am unable to participate on Thursdays?
If your availability on Thursday nights is irregular, you may wish to explore the option of registering as a ‘spare,’ which incurs no fee. As a spare, you will be contacted to participate in a match when a player of your skill level is unable to attend.
We strongly encourage all players to be in attendance on the scheduled club night. However, matches are permitted to be played in advance of the club night, but not subsequent to the designated club night.
In the event of an early match or a need for cancellation due to unavailability of substitutes, it is of utmost importance that you promptly notify your opponent or one of the club coordinators.
